Plant Medicine for Grief

A new Grief Refuge support program for people who are looking for natural ways to help manage loss and grief

Please join us for a new grief support group starting January 30th. We will meet online each Tuesday for 4 consecutive weeks. The group will start on January 30th at 8pm ET | 5pm PT and complete on February 20th. Each Tuesday, this group will meet for up to 90 minutes.

This is a closed group, limited to 12 participants. We will use the Zoom platform to gather and learn each time.

Stop Yourself From Feeling Grief Overwhelm

In grief, we often feel the loss of a connection. We may feel like there is no way to ever feel connected again.

Did you know that plants can act as a doorway back into a felt sense of connection?

Yes, plants can alleviate symptoms of discomfort in the body & mind, but in a deeper way, they remind us that we never move through grief alone.

This 4-week series is designed to begin building a felt sense of connection to plants & nature, self, and to each other.

Plants can help us create a practice of slowing down & building the capacity to be with what is. From that place, we can open our awareness, bit by bit, to the truth of our grief and what it means to us.

As a participant in the group, you will:

  • Get needed support to help cope with loss and manage your grief.

  • Feel soothed and comforted to help ease the sense of loneliness and isolation.

  • Learn practical ways to use plants to manage the feelings of hopelessness and despair.

  • Gain a framework and understanding for how to navigate your grief journey.

This program will help you learn about three categories of herbs and plants that can support your body, heart, and spirit in times of grief. You will learn how to introduce herbs and plants into your life in a ritualistic way to bring about deeper reverence for your experiences. You will also experience the power of being held in community as Lisa Marie facilitates the group to move through guided practices designed to begin these relationships.

We will take this time to move through the mystery of grief together.

Session Breakdown

Week One: Build our container as a community. You’ll be introduced to the three herbal categories of Heart-openers/tonics, Nervous System Supporters, and Nutritive Herbs and how we can introduce them into the body. We will be led through a practice to set intentions for beginning these relationships.

Week Two: Dive deeper into heart openers/tonics. We will learn how certain plants can support our hearts while grieving. We will move through guided practice to experience the process of relationship-building with our plant allies.

Week Three: Explore herbs for nervous system support and move through guided practice to regulate our nervous system in times of activation and stress.

Week Four: Explore the Nutritive Herbs that can provide deep nourishment for our bodies when we have been depleted by loss and stress. We will move through a guided practice to focus on connection to our bodies. We will close by identifying the practice & plant that stuck out to us the most as a guide for support.

Each week there will be an opening exercise to come together as a group, a teaching on plant medicine, a guided embodiment practice, and an integration circle for community sharing and witnessing.

If you have been seeking connection after times of loss, this course is for you. Together we will remember how plants are guides that can lead us back to the truth of our hearts and bodies. We will remember and experience this truth in community."

This plant medicine for grief series is facilitated by Lisa Marie Conine of Beloved Gateway. Lisa Marie is an experienced Death Doula, Online Facilitator, and Grief Companion. Through movement and natural remedies, Lisa Marie has helped people transition in life and transform in grief.

Due to the sensitivity of the topic, seating is limited to 12 participants. This allows for a more sacred and safe space to support your personal healing and transformation.
